E-Mail Service

POP3 or IMAP?

The choice between POP3 and IMAP depends on your specific needs and preferences. Here are some factors to consider when deciding which protocol to use:

POP3

POP3 is designed to download emails from the server to a single device and is useful if you have limited server storage. Emails are downloaded to the local device and once downloaded, emails are usually removed from the server (although there may be options to leave a copy for a limited time). Changes made on one device (e.g., marking an email as read) do not reflect on other devices.

IMAP

IMAP allows multiple devices to access the same mailbox simultaneously. Emails are stored on the server, allowing users to access their full mailbox from any device. IMAP consumes a lot of disk space on your hosting account and is generally not suitable for basic hosting accounts. IMAP provides real-time access to your mailbox, allowing you to see the current state of your emails. Changes made on one device (e.g., marking an email as read or deleting an email) are reflected on all other devices.  It supports advanced folder management, allowing you to organize and manage your emails more effectively.

E-Mail Settings

Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name)
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name)
SMTP Port: 587
(Make sure “My server requires authentication” is enabled)

I'm getting e-mail sending & receiving errors - what do I do?

Sending and receiving errors are often caused by a blocked IP address.  Contact us via WhatsApp and include your public IP address.  You can find your public IP address by typing “my IP address” in Google.

Which platform will be used for my website - WordPress or OctoberCMS?

The choice between WordPress and OctoberCMS depends on your specific business requirements and preferences.

WordPress is a widely used content management system known for its simplicity, versatility, and user-friendly interface, offering an extensive range of plugins for various functionalities. As an open-source platform, it allows users to easily manage content, update pages, and scale their websites without being tied to a specific developer or agency.

OctoberCMS is a lightweight and performance-driven alternative to WordPress, emphasizing user-friendliness and simplicity.
